Feasibility Study of Proposed Expressway/Railway Line from Hambanthota Seaport to Airport

This expressway and railway section linked the proposed industrial zone in Hambanthota to the proposed extension on Southern Expressway. The feasibility study carried out to determine suitable trace for proposed /Railway linking Hambanthota Sea port and new Maththala airport and its feasibility. Road Development Authority (RDA) was the Employer of the project. The project had been consisting of 25km length of expressway and three interchanges/intersections. The project promoter was China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd. He funded the study. ED&PMC involved technical work of the study as a sub-consultant of the expressway work.

ED&PMC carried out Survey, Investigation, Preliminary Designs, Preparation of Land Acquisition Plans, Preliminary Structural Designs, Pavement Design, Preparation of Cost estimates & Planning Documents, Preparation of Tender Documents.
